Jenny Tonge has promoted an article by Ramzy Baroud alleging that IDF soldiers and settlers ‘are working extra hard to spit at as many Palestinians, their cars, doorknobs, and so on, as possible’ in order to spread Covid-19.
There is no evidence for this.
Tonge calls Baroud ‘a well respected writer’.
Well respected by whom, Jenny?
You only have to look at Baroud’s website to see that he buys into and propagates all the antisemitic lies about Israel. See the video of his talk at the University of Turin in Italy marking this year’s ‘Apartheid Week’ (it was delivered by Skype due to the Corona outbreak).
He appears to support terrorism, he compares Zionism to Nazism, he says that Zionism equals racism and he says that it’s a prelude to genocide.
For 20 years he has edited ‘Palestine Chronicle’. Honest Reporting describes Palestine Chronicle thus: ‘Both The Palestine Chronicle and Palestine Telegraph are dominated by radicals and extremists who even flirt with anti-Semitism. They are certainly not credible media outlets’.
That Tonge calls Baroud ‘well respected’ says everything about this member of the House of Lords who should have been kicked out into oblivion years ago. Her unctuous virtue-signalling claim that she ‘desperately wants it not to be true‘ is simply as hypocritical as it gets.
